Asian Rambler
Site: This large, flat site highlights glorious water views. The backyard was predominantly lawn. The remaining landscape was outdated and overgrown. The client asked us to redefine the space and update the plantings.
Solution: An Asian inspired yard was created through the use of materials such as madrona, bamboo, small washed river rock and a variety of plantings. A large madrona gate beckons the user to enter this tranquil site. The large space is divided by bamboo screening creating a series of secluded outdoor rooms. A deck off the bedroom provides the perfect place to meditate while the sound of water from a Tsukabai water feature and rustic waterfall fills the air.
