Redbrick Lodge

Situated on over 6 acres of level terrain, this site has a protected year round creek running through it and is dappled with second growth firs and ancient fruit trees, yet it is minutes from a thriving city on the Eastside of Seattle.

From the beginning, the owners commissioned Sundance to design & secure permitting for the Site Plan of their Grand Lodge, Spa/Grotto, Covered Outdoor Kitchen, Gardens, hardscapes, Bridges, & Drive. Once permitting was acquired, Sundance commenced as the General Contractor, managing the site work, the utility installations and the construction of the Lodge & outbuildings before completing the landscape features.

The Grand Lodge is 5,500 sq. ft. split between the two stories and is tucked into a small grove of existing firs & cedars giving visitors the impression that the Lodge has stood longer than the trees. You enter the Lodge from the Covered Entrance Bridge which spans the spa/grotto below. Once inside the custom front doors, you enter the Living room with a 15' vaulted ceiling supported by massive exposed timber beams mortised to the posts. The rugged floor to ceiling stone fireplace is softened with the adjacent cornered windows with views into the tree grove. Following a great room concept, the living room opens into the gourmet kitchen & dining room. To complete this perfect entertainment space, a set of French doors then leads you out to the attached Covered Outdoor Room equipped with a built-in BBQ kitchen. To entice guest to linger a little longer outside, a second Stone Fireplace does just that. The balance of the top floor includes the home office, powder room and the Master Suite with a luxury Spa Bathroom.

The lower floor contains a second entertaining space for more casual get togethers. A generous family room incorporates spaces for a billiard table, media center for movies & sports viewing, and a second kitchen with a bar allows family & friends easy access to their favorite snacks & beverages. Adjacent to the family room, is a luxury Guest Suite with 2 bedrooms and a full bath. French doors from the suite open onto the stone Patio welcoming guest to enjoy the Grotto's Natural stone Spa. Preparation for entertaining occasions is more convenient with a climate controlled 1,500 bottle wine cellar and an electrical dumb-waiter located adjacent to the three car garage making delivery of supplies to the second floor easier. A laundry with a second powder room completes the lower floor.
