Terraced Garden
Site: Sunny abandoned lot with a fireplace remnant. The long, narrow site is steeply sloped. The owner wanted level useable spaces that included graceful transitions and areas of seclusion.
Solution: We created connected outdoor 'rooms', including a vegetable garden, patio, waterfall and level lawn. The result is a series of wonderful visual surprises as you pass through an inviting arbor into the vegetable garden and down the granite stone path to a water feature. Day dreamers and book lovers are drawn to the tranquility of the pond where a bluestone patio, cobble stone fireplace and suspended swing from an arbor are enveloped by the rich setting. The waterfall integrates the spaces and blurs the sounds from the lake and road.
